The Cross

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6).

The simplicity of this statement is so often overlooked. Truth isn’t subjective. Truth isn’t a set of rules or standards. Truth isn’t a doctrine. Truth is simply a person. Sanctification is a person. Deliverance is a person. Heaven is a person. Everything in it’s fullness is wrapped up in the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ.

This is why the cross is so offensive. It doesn’t care who you are. It doesn’t care what you have done, or what works you can do in your own self. It doesn’t care about your personality. It doesn’t care about your earthly treasures. If it’s not nailed to the old rugged cross and risen with Jesus Christ its like dung to the Heavenly Father.

What more do you have to do, where else do you have to be, what ambitions do you still have when you realize Jesus Christ has already done everything for you by shedding His blood on Calvary? My child the only thing left to do is to pick up your cross, and become crucified with your Lord and Savior. Feel those nails pierce through your hands and feet. Feel your head bow in surrender as you stare into death, the enemy of every man. When it feels as though you have completely lost yourself to this grueling experience of the cross, then and only then, can you now experience true resurrection life. You can cease from your own labors and be where He is with the Heavenly Father.

Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
